The Chestnut Grove Rest Home in Preston, Lancashire is a residential care home for older people has been given the overall score of outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).


The inspection took place on 15 & 28 October 2018.


Chestnut Grove Rest Home was rated outstanding in three out of five key areas.

Outstanding ratings were given in the caring, responsive and well-led aspects of the report, and the safe and effective elements received a score of good.


Residents received a highly effective service which was person-centred and put them at the heart of their care. Inspectors were told that staff were empathetic and motivated to provide compassionate care. There was a continued emphasis on privacy, dignity and human rights. Relatives praised end of life care provision at the home.


People, relatives and professionals all agreed the service continued to be exceptionally well managed. Everyone that CQC inspectors spoke to praised the skills of the management team and their ability to provide an exceptional service. Governance was embedded within the service and was based upon good practice guidance.
