Vida Hall in Starbeck, North Yorkshire, a care home for adults living with dementia, was rated outstanding for being caring and responsive following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
It achieved the score of good for the safe, effective and well-led categories.
The inspection took place on the 17 October & 14 November 2019.
The CQC report highlighted that everyone working in the service was considered as an integral part of the care team. All staff shared the same enthusiasm and commitment to interacting in a positive way with people and families and seeking their views.
Staff used innovative and fun ways for people to feel part of the wider community, increase confidence and achieve goals. For example, the service took part in the 'Road World for Seniors' in 2019. This was an annual event for older people and people living with dementia. People used custom-made exercise bicycles to compete. One resident had excelled and won a medal.
