Walton Heath Manor Care Home, Walton-on-the-Hill

The Walton Heath Manorin Walton-on-the-Hill,Surrey,providing care for adults over 65, has been given the overall score of outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).




The inspection took place on 10 April 2019.


The Walton Heath Manor was rated outstanding in three of the five key areas.


Outstanding ratings were given in the caring, responsive and well-led aspects of the report, and the safe and effective elements received a score of good.


Highlighting the outstanding care aspect of the report CQC inspectors said that there was a strong person-centred culture at Walton Heath Manor. People and their relatives were consistently positive about the caring attitude of the staff.


One resident said, "It's the level of care which is provided here which is unique. There is a huge amount of care and love here."


Another person said, "Nothing is perfect, but the staff try to make it perfect."


Within the report there were many examples of the service going the extra mile to ensure that residents were supported to maintain their lifestyle and interests.


One person said, "You can enjoy a good lifestyle here. I wouldn't swap it for anything."


A second said, "I was so impressed with the care for my wife. I said I'd move in as long as I could be responsible for the weeding in the garden and I am." Being able to do this meant a lot to the resident and it helped keep his body moving.


Residents and their relatives felt that Walton Heath Manor was exceptionally well-led, and the registered manager promoted a positive culture.


One person said that, "(Registered manager) Teresa Chandlerknows her staff well and is very organised."


And other person said, "She cares greatly, and this is communicated to the staff."


While a third resident commented that, "She makes us feel human and this trickles down to the rest of the staff."
